DESCRIPTION:Calling all Cowboys and Cowgirls and Equine Enthusiasts! \nKansas City Cowboys For Cops wants YOU to join us for our 3rd annual “Downtown Trail Ride” from the west bottoms of Kansas City to the National World War I Monument and Museum (Liberty Memorial). \nHosted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse. \nWE RIDE to show support for our Law Enforcement Officers and all first responders!\nWE RIDE in MEMORY of those we have lost in service.\nWE RIDE TO RAISE MONEY for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse’s POSSE 100 FUND\, a fund designated for first responders and their families in times of need.\nThe day of our ride mulitple checks will be presented to First Responders and their families. \nWe will be lead by the KCPD Mounted Patrol and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse. \nKCPD will be providing a full rolling police escort to and from our destination!\nOnce we reach the National World War 1 Monument & Museum we will have a short presentation to show support for our LEOs and first responders.\nAfterwards we will return to our staging area via the same route with our police escort. \nWHEN:\nFriday\, July 27th\, 2018\nBE SADDLED BY 9:00 AM.\nWe will RIDE OUT no later than 9:30 AM. \nWHERE:\nStaging Area:\n“LIBERTY LOT”\n1447 Liberty Street\, Kansas City\, MO 64102 \nThe Liberty Lot is located one block north of the Kemper Arena Complex. From I-670 exit on Gennessee St\, go south to 16th St and turn left (east) to get to our staging area. The Liberty Lot is a large gravel parking lot. 1447 Liberty St\, KCMO \nWear patriotic colors and decorate your horse!\nHorse drawn vehicles welcome. All breeds welcome.\nOur route is approx 5 miles to and from our destination that will be completed at a walk. We estimate to return to our staging area around 1 PM. \nCurrent coggins will be checked at the GATE.\n*** No stallions. No bareback riders. No double riders. No lead line horses with on foot walkers. *** \nOver 300 head of horseback riders attended our 2017 event.
